True Haunting (Eerie Hall—Parts 1, 2, and 3) | Netflix
2025 • Paranormal/Supernatural • Docuseries
Please be aware that this review will contain spoilers; proceed with caution.
True Haunting is a paranormal docuseries based on actual hauntings, and it was created by James Wan (creator of the Conjuring Universe) for Netflix. The Eerie Hall episodes were directed by Neil Rawles.
Eerie Hall is about Chris Decasare, an athlete who relocates to New York to attend Geneseo College. He is easily acclimated to his dorm life, but he is haunted by a spirit that ultimately torments his mind and life. The spirit constantly calls out his name and starts to manifest itself in different ways inside his dorm room. He gets to the point where he can no longer sleep in his room or even sleep at all. He knows that what he is dealing with is not something that he can explain.
There is even a visit from Ed and Lorraine Warren at his school, so his friend Jeff decides to take notes of his lecture. Upon attempting to meet Lorraine, she immediately pulls away from him and tells him that she will not shake his hand. At first, he can only sense it, but then the entity appears to him and also decides to haunt his friends. Upon learning this and trying several methods to identify the spirit, he finally decides to seek spiritual guidance from a priest.
This helps ease the situation but does not solve the issue. Out of desperation, he reaches out to his skeptical father, and he assures him that everything will be okay, even though he also ends up sensing the spirit.
This is a definite rewatch. I give this docuseries 10 bones out of 10!
Note
Being that it is a real haunting, you can put yourself in Chris's shoes and imagine the absolute dread and fear that he must have felt. It is unfortunate how such an event can derail a person's entire life, but it is understandable. He went from being a star running athlete to an absolute nobody in just a matter of months.
If you enjoyed this review, please let me know, and I will do a review for the next series in True Haunting.
