Weapons is a supernatural horror film directed by Zach Cregger, who also directed Barbarian.

Starring Julia Garner as Justine and Josh Brolin as Archer, this eerie film will have you questioning everything. In a classroom of 18 students, 17 of them suddenly go missing. Upon reviewing the cameras from each of the children's houses, the parents and police discover that the children went missing at exactly 2:17 A.M. Besides the timeframe, there are no other clues to their whereabouts or who or what took them. The teacher, Justine, is concerned about her students, and the parents believe that she has some involvement in their disappearance. The parents don't feign in showing their disgust towards her. Yet, regardless of how she is being treated, she perseveres relentlessly to learn where the missing children are being held. Archer, father of Matthew, is also out to pursue his own investigation, and in doing so, he uncovers so much more than he could ever imagine.

The film follows the interconnected story of each character, each one more twisted than the last. This film shows a depiction of alcohol abuse and drug use.

I don't consider this film a rewatch; one time was enough for me. I give this movie 7 bones out of 10!

Note

First of all, I feel that the title of this film should be another one. Although it does tie to some aspects in the film, it has your mind generating a different scenario. Perhaps that is what the writer and director intended. I don't want to say too much about the film because I know that I will spoil it for you. What I can tell you is that I did not expect to be surprised as much as I was. The plot twist was a blow to my face.

Protagonizada por Julia Garner como Justine y Josh Brolin como Archer, esta inquietante película te hará cuestionarlo todo. En una clase de 18 estudiantes, 17 de ellos desaparecen repentinamente. Al revisar las cámaras de las casas de cada niño, los padres y la policía descubren que desaparecieron exactamente a las 2:17 a. m. Más allá de la hora, no hay más pistas sobre su paradero ni sobre quién o qué se los llevó. La maestra, Justine, está preocupada por sus alumnos, y los padres creen que tiene algo que ver con su desaparición. 

Los padres no fingían mostrar su disgusto hacia ella. Sin embargo, a pesar del trato que recibe, persevera incansablemente para averiguar dónde se encuentran los niños desaparecidos. Archer, papá de Matthew, también emprende su propia investigación y, al hacerlo, descubre mucho más de lo que jamás imaginó.

La película sigue la historia interconectada de cada personaje, cada uno más retorcido que el anterior. Esta película muestra el abuso del alcohol y el consumo de drogas.

Me bastó con ver esta película una sola vez. ¡Le doy un 7 de 10!

Nota:

Antes que nada, creo que el título de esta película debería ser otro. Aunque se relaciona con algunos aspectos de la película, te hace pensar en un escenario diferente. Quizás esa era la intención del guionista y del director. No quiero hablar demasiado sobre la película porque sé que te la voy a arruinar. Lo que sí puedo decir es que no esperaba sorprenderme tanto. El giro de la trama fue un golpe bien fuerte.
